The guys over at Street Etiquette teamed up with Ouigi, the Bearded Man of the Brooklyn Circus, and photographer F.E. Castleberry of Unabashedlyprep.com to put together this amazing photoshoot. As a Black Ivy League Alum I am happy to see a representation of what our style and culture can bring to the table. Though these pictures still portray it as an “all boys clubs” I cannot be upset about the mixture of my 3 favorites: great photography, well dressed men, and representing the Ivies. Below are some of my favorite shots:
Jewelry by Jamila Jo: earrings, The New Doorknockers $24
These thick, gold-plated metal chain links are light-weight and have been fashioned into earrings. It’s an 80s vibe with a modern attitude. Pictured here they are paired with the Jamila Jo R&B necklace.
Fellow Penn Alum Shakirah Simley is following a unique dream: a social-justice orientated perserve company. Slow Jams is committed to using sustainably grown ingredients locally sourced from urban and rural growers in the San Francisco area. And it’s now in a Bay Area supermarket. With flavors like Hot Pepper Jelly, Meyer Lemon Curd, Strawberry Lavendar, and Brown Sugar Pear Butter they should fly right off the shelves. If you are not in the Bay Area you can buy Slow Jams online at www.eatslowjams.com. Congrats again Shakirah.
